Discover Utah’s World-Class Sports Venues

Utah is filled with state-of-the-art sporting venues that welcome avid sports fans throughout the year.

Vivint Smart Home Arena is situated in Salt Lake City and has been considered the home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz since 1991. The arena can accommodate more than 18,000 basketball fans and features club seats and luxury suites. It has also been the home of the Utah Blaze (AFL), the Utah Starzz (WNBA), the Salt Lake Golden Eagles (IHL), and the Utah Grizzlies hockey team before they moved to the Maverik Center.

Speaking of the Maverik Center, this home to the Grizzlies National Hockey League team is a multipurpose arena in West Valley City. The venue holds 12,000 seats and also frequently hosts concerts and touring shows.

Other professional sports venues welcoming fans in the Beehive State include scenic Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City, the home of the AAA The Salt Lake Bees, and Downtown Ogden’s Lindquist Field, the home field for the Ogden Raptors, a Los Angeles Dodgers farm team. Rio Tinto Stadium is the state’s premier soccer stadium and serves as the host stadium for Real Salt Lake and the Real Monarchs.

EnergySolutions Arena

Seating over 19,000 sports fans, EnergySolutions Arena, known fondly as ESA, is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Owned by the estate of Larry H. Miller, Jazz Basketball Investors, Inc., the facility is the home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz, as well as the AFL’s Utah Blaze.

In February of 2002, ESA was a venue for the XIX Olympic Winter Games. Today, basketball devotees gather around statues in the arena’s courtyard of NBA greats John Stockton and Karl Malone, the Utah Jazz’s most celebrated stars.

Maverik Center

Set in West Valley City, the Maverik Center is a multi-purpose arena in northern Utah. A 10,100-seat venue near Salt Lake City, the E Center was a site for the 2002 Winter Paralympics.

Owned by the City of West Valley City, and operated by the Centennial Management Group, Inc., the Maverik was opened in 1997 – and ideal for major sporting events like hockey, basketball, boxing, and wrestling.
